In 2014, I was inducted into the Beta Xi chapter of Phi Beta Delta International Scholars Honor Society.
In 2014, I was nominated to represent Lamar University for a statewide teaching award, the Minnie Piper Stevens award.

In Fall 2013, I was invited to discuss my research about Virginia Woolf in the first Cardinal Conversations event, hosted at the home of President and Mrs. Evans. This event was televised locally.
In Spring 2013, I was awarded ACES certification for outstanding student engagement in the classroom.
In Fall 2012, I was awarded a Faculty Development Leave, the equivalent of a sabbatical in Texas, from Lamar University.
In 2012, I was also awarded a Research Enhancement Grant by Lamar University, which allowed me to travel to the UK and conduct research in the Iris Murdoch Archives at Kingston University and in Virginia Woolf's Monks House Papers at the University of Sussex.
In 2007, I was awarded an Excellence in Service award from Binghamton University.
